But 2017 allows those in the capital to delve into the work once again as the hit stage musical finally makes its way to the West End by playing the Garrick Theatre. Boasting Brooks’s music and lyrics and a book by him and Thomas Meehan the show will undoubtedly be a big talking point in Theatreland

Mel Brooks’ classic story introduces us to the grandson of Victor Von Frankenstein, Frederick, who lives in the United States and tries to live down the reputation of his famous grandfather. So whilst he gets annoyed at people asking him about the family legacy he soon realises that it might be his own legacy as well when he discovers he has inherited the property in Transylvania. When he inspects the place he realises he is more interested in his grandfather’s experiments than he first realised!

It is one of the best known horror spoofs of all time and this stage musical adaptation heads to the West End with an array of musical numbers that are bound to put smiles on faces.
