The Book of Mormon

Prince of Wales Theatre

Theatre Tickets

Audiences at the Prince of Wales Theatre have been treated to the hit musical from South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone since they brought Book Of Mormon to the venue in March 2013. The show earned them a number of fans when it was seen on the other side of the Atlantic on Broadway and its arrival in the West End was met with enormous anticipation. After all, with numerous Tony Awards to its name and a story that has now been celebrated worldwide, people cannot get enough of Book Of Mormon.

This mentioned story focuses on two Mormon missionaries who head out to a village in Northern Uganda with the aim of teaching them the way of the Mormon religion, also known as the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints. But when they arrive it soon becomes clear that the residents there are more worried about AIDS and the war problems that they face so religion is the last thing on their mind. It seems that in this case the church will have to take a backseat.

And those hoping for some stand-out songs like those found in Parker and Stone’s other work (like South Park and Team America: World Police) will undoubtedly be satisfied by All American Prophet, Making Things Up Again and Spooky Mormon Hell Dreams, among others.

It’s not just Parker and Stone that have put the show together, of course, as Robert Lopez worked alongside them as well, penning with them the book, lyrics and music. Lopez is best known for the show Avenue Q, which itself was described as a cross between Sesame Street and South Park.

Book Of Mormon continues at its home of the Prince of Wales Theatre.
