Synopsis

The New London Theatre becomes the West End home of School Of Rock, the film-turned-musical that has been taking Broadway audiences by storm. It will be the chance for London audiences to experience the unforgettable story of Dewey Finn as he forms an unusual battle of the bands team with memorable results.

Andrew Lloyd Webber is the big name associated with the production. The composer provides the music for this critically acclaimed hit and as such it is the latest in a long line of stand-out shows to entertain audiences, with others including The Phantom Of The Opera, The Woman In White, Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Cats, amongst others.

In School Of Rock we meet Dewey Finn, a down-on-his-luck musician who we meet at his lowest point. He doesn’t have a job and he has just been kicked out of his band, so it is safe to say that things are not looking up. Then he comes up with a plan – by posing as his roommate he can get a job as a substitute teacher and begin a new adventure. But when he realises that teaching might not be for him, he utilises his music skills to turn his class into the ultimate band.

Along the way musical numbers include Math Is A Wonderful Thing, School Of Rock, I’m Too Hot For You and School Of Rock, to name but a few

Following its success in the United States, audiences in the West End can now experience School Of Rock as it plays at the New London Theatre.
