Theatre Tickets

The West End welcomes its latest jukebox musical as this celebration of Motown lands on the stage of the Shaftesbury Theatre. The production is a hit Broadway show that found many fans across the United States and will be hoping for the same success on this side of the Pond.

Motown The Musical chronicles the career of Berry Gordy, the man who rose to the top with the launch of the Motown label, allowing him to discover huge artists and then introduce them to the world. The result is a legacy that ensures he has adored globally as artists such as Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross and Smokey Robinson now have international recognition.

So expect his story to be told onstage alongside performances from the world of Motown, including the Jackson 5’s ABC, Robinson’s You Really Got A Hold On Me and The Supremes’ Where Did Our Love Go, to name but a few. With a long list of favourite Motown tunes on the agenda, it is no wonder this became such a big hit in New York and beyond.

And the London version will boast direction from Charles Randolph-Wright, the man responsible for helming the Broadway version, ensuring the show is in safe hands. Randolph-Wright has previously directed hit shows like the revival of Guys And Dolls, and has also been behind numerous television shows and films.  So he is an experienced practitioner whose insights will lend themselves to a top West End show.

Motown The Musical, also featuring hit songs like Dancing In The Street and Please Mr Postman, plays at the West End’s Shaftesbury Theatre.
